BIG CHANGES!! AFTV to debut new Music Video Contest Rules for 2014.
With several years of AMV and PMV contests behind us, we expect 2014 will be a big year for us! Why is that? Well, It marks one year before SWAG Expo, but it will mark the debut of an entirely revamped, much easier to read, and much more flexible rules for our Music Video contests!
So what’s the major changes?
- Multi-editor submissions will now be accepted.
Finally after several years we developed what we think is the proper rules and submission methods for Multi-editors to be apart of our contests.
- Video submissions will no longer be just for ‘Anime’ despite the name ‘Anime’ Music Videos; any American animations will now be accepted.
We have noticed through several contests that there have been a mix of both ‘Anime’ and american animations so we made it much easier and give editors have much more resources and creative freedom in their videos by not limiting them to just ‘Anime’. Our contest will go by ‘Animated’ Music Videos and still use the acronym “AMV”
- 4 New Sub-Categorys
Below the 4 Main-Categorys of Action, Drama, Comedy/Song, and Comedy/Freestyle. We have developed 4 more sub-categoys for your video submissions. This is essentially your, Beginner, Moderate, and Expert Categories. This also includes Machinima.
- Generic Video – Video that contains source footage from an animation with little, to no special effects.
- Edited Video – Video that contains source footage alongside special effects that is created by the Editor.
- Created Video – Do you animate your own stuff? We will accept those too! Video that contains some, to little source footage, and is at least 80% self created by animation software.
- Machinima – Video that contains scripted or real-time gaming to create a cinematic production that is generated by the video creator.
- Opening Titles & Ending Credits will now have to be mandatory.
We know they’re art thefts and even some video thefts. In oder to combat that, we would have to require that each video submission to at least have opening or ending credits in their video submissions.
New Rules are set to debut soon with a new convention added to our list for 2014 and it would something entirely different and unexpected!
